Raised in Grasmere, I have a long-standing and direct personal interest in the well-being of Westmorland and Lonsdale.
I have always been a strong advocate for our region, and I am dedicated to strengthening our communities, families, and businesses.
My focus is on unlocking local potential, for a prosperous and sustainable future for our community: building homes for locals, enhancing education, backing farmers and increasing food security, improving connectivity and promoting the growth of our visitor economy.
My experiences - working locally, serving our country, and working in Central Government and defence - equip me to understand and address both local and national issues.
As your MP, I will champion a comprehensive plan that supports our people, ensures prosperity and preserves our place.
People: Supporting our farmers and enhancing food security are crucial. I will improve rural infrastructure, strengthen NHS facilities, and champion local values and community initiatives, ensuring that our way of life is preserved and enhanced.
Prosperity: I aim to overcome the negative planning culture that hinders development. By helping to foster a diverse economy and enhancing local education and connectivity, we can create new opportunities and drive economic growth.
Place: Community-focused housing development, prioritising road maintenance, and balanced tourism are key aspects of my plan. I am committed to protecting the natural beauty of our area, including our National Parks.
Since my selection last year, I have worked tirelessly on this plan to make sure it will work for everyone in Westmorland and Lonsdale. For nearly two decades, we have lacked a voice that delivers real change. It’s time for action and a voice that will be heard loud and clear on the national stage.
Having grown up here, attended school here, and worked locally, I bring the perspective we need to address our community's needs.
