Matty Jackman had a fantastic morning in Kirkby Stephen, engaging in meaningful conversations with locals and dedicated business owners.
The discussions covered critical issues, including the imperative A66 Dualling, concerns about parking on Market Street, the persistent pothole problem, optimising public transportation routes, advocating for robust business support, and reinforcing the commitment to supporting local farmers.
Despite the brisk weather, there was a very warm reception!
In Appleby, Matty had an afternoon filled with conversations covering topics from A66 Dualling (again) to the Appleby Horse Fair, Sunday openings, footfall, boundary changes, and Airbnb's in town.
Lunch at The Appleby Hub was a treat, particularly their highly recommended Club Sandwich. An encore is anticipated for a coffee and piano session soon!
Post-lunch, he had the pleasure of visiting the Conservative Club, a truly magnificent building.
As the weather cleared, the team saw @ApplebyAFC scoring in the Cup game, sparking fond memories of Matty's U12s days with Ambleside FC in Appleby.
